Bombay Dresser

24″w x 63″l x 32″h

bubinga, maple

This dresser is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Bombay chest. The drawer fronts curve gently outward echoing the serpentine curve used in more traditional pieces. To give this piece a more contemporary feel, the drawer pulls were laminated and sculpted into the fronts. The drawer interiors are hard maple and are carried by exceptionally smooth running maple guides. The curved, laminated sides flow into the legs with gentle scallops, intended to give the piece a particularly smooth, seamless quality. Featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine, 1984. This dresser is part of a bedroom suite that includes the 5 Drawer Dresser and Nightstands.
